||Day Seventeen||
For me, one of my favorite ways to de-stress and de-clutter my mind is to make lists.
I am a bonafide organizer. For some reason it just soothes me, not to mention the practicality.
So for my birthday I asked for the ultimate gift for me: a book dedicated to making lists.
And today, as a way to relax and (if we're being honest) to regain some control in my life, I decided to start a few of my lists.
I didn't want to do anything major, such as fill in the whole page, so as to not make it too much of a task. Instead, I chose three pages and listed three points for each category. It was just enough for me to not feel overwhelmed or strained, but to fuel some creativity.
Another way that I've been making lists lately comes from a Pinterest find.
The idea is to start writing down the happy or memorable moments of the year, throughout the year, and put them in a jar. Then, on New Years Eve, you can read and remember all of the greatest moments from the past year. For me, this was something I felt I needed to start in January (so that I wouldn't forget things, because I so often do) but it's something you can really start any time.
Another way I like to spark some creativity, though it's not necessarily in list form, is to use my "Wreck This Journal". As you can see by the pink and blue flags, there are many pages that I want and plan on doing at some point. It's just a good way to take your mind off things and feel like you're doing something cool. I also like to use Pinterest sometimes to get some inspiration for my pages.
Either way, after a long day, sometimes it's just nice to have an outlet for me to organize my thoughts.
Tonight, it has definitely served its purpose. There's nothing better than going to bed with a clear mind.
