||Day Eighty||
Today was weird.
I woke up with a migraine, which if you've ever had a migraine then you know that's super cool and fun. But, on the plus side, I managed to wake up before the double digits, probably because of my migraine. You win some you lose some.
The weather was also strange. It was completely cloudy, no blue sky to be seen, but the sun would come out every once in a while. It was kind of ominous. Not to mention the fact that it's August and I still don't think it's even gotten to mid-90s here is just crazy. Fun fact: when we moved two years ago it was late June and that day, of all days, it reached 103.
Despite the rough start to my morning and the odd weather, I finally got my reading day.
I knew that at some point the handymen would be coming over, so I decided to take over my mom's room with my three books I'm trying to read at once (not very successfully) and my two dogs. Although I will admit to watching "Law & Order: SVU" for probably at least an episode or two before actually starting to read. But it must have been my lucky day, the opportunity to read and an SVU marathon. I was set.
I'm really trying to finish this one book, it's called "Rosie Dunne" although there are other versions called "Love Rosie" and also "Where Rainbows End". It's by Cecelia Ahern, which I've read a book of hers once before and enjoyed it, and seeing as how this book is going to become a movie (with the title "Love Rosie") I thought it might be interesting to read. It's been pretty good, I don't think I'm too crazy about it, but what's getting to me is how long it's taking me to get through it. It seems like I can read and read and read and read and barely make a dent in it. It's a fairly long book though, at least by my standards (about 430 pages). But, I managed to get up to 40 pages left, so I'm hoping I can finish it by tonight and then perhaps get around to those two other books that I started before this one. Whoops.
Also, I really liked this quote: "Well that's the problem with paradise -- nothing attracts a serpent quite like it."

Today my August Julep box arrived as well, which seemed like it took a lot longer than usual. I'm pretty pumped about all the colors, and there's one called "Katie" which is probably the closest I'll get to having one with my name (although there's also one called "Waleska" so you never know).
Besides my read-fest, my mom and I got to take the dogs for a quick walk (we figured they deserved at least that since they barely left the top of the stairs today) and then I completed my Blogilates workouts very late in the evening. Today was Arm & Back day. Silly me, I thought that didn't sound too daunting, but I was very very wrong. Cassey Ho kicks major butt in her workouts and if you don't believe me, just try doing one of her videos. And then do four more because that's what these daily workouts are. They're intense, but they get you feeling strong and honestly pretty confident. Today was day six and I feel as though I'm already noticing subtle differences. I dread the workouts like no other, but I love the results, so I will keep on pushing.
It was fun to read all day, but I also couldn't help but feel a little cabin-fever-ish. Because the workers were here I felt like I couldn't really leave the house, let alone my mom's room, therefore I wanted to leave a little bit more than usual. But I had a good time. I just relaxed and let myself live with no obligations. So much, however, that I almost forgot to eat lunch. Me. Forgetting to eat lunch. I mean really, how did that even happen? It was a weird day.
