Do you ever wander into Target with nothing in mind and yet somehow manage to leave with something(s) that you never even knew you "needed"? Of course you do. That is the beauty of Target.
Well today I actually went to Target on a mission to find pencil cases. Not just any pencil cases.
I was specifically looking to find the ones that fit in a binder, have a clear front, but a fairly cute design overall. I'm planning to use them as my "Save" and "Spend" envelopes (if you've ever heard of that Dave Ramsey method). Anyway, I'm at Target, I'm strolling up and down the Back-To-School section, which thank goodness was fairly empty at 12pm on a Friday, and I see no pencil cases; not the ones I wanted, at least. Eventually I found the rack that they were supposed to be on, but there were none to be found. So as to not consider this a trip to Target wasted, I decided to just peruse around the store.
And I think I hit the jackpot.
I found three things that, believe me, after much internal debating, I purchased with no regrets.
{Globe}
In a half-attempt to keep looking for pencil cases (thinking maybe they could be in the general supplies section), I stumbled upon this gorgeous globe. It was gold, which I'm currently obsessing over (hence my gold "cake" stand), fairly small, and just seemed like the perfect addition to my apartment. I debated this purchase quite a bit. I carried it all over the store with me, put it back, picked it back up, carried it around some more, started to take it back, then finally decided that I wanted it badly enough. I'm still working on my impulse-buying. One thing at a time.

{"Succulents"}
I've wanted a terrarium for a long time now. And many times I almost bought the stuff to make one myself. However, I am really really REALLY bad at keeping plants alive, especially succulents (which is just embarrassing because they are literally considered the "easiest plants to maintain".. err). I don't know what it is. I try to water them when I think they need it, but also try to not over water them; I place them in places with sunlight, but to no avail. My poor potted succulents are barely hanging on, but maybe once I move back to my apartment they will magically perk back up. A girl can hope.
Anyway, so I bought this tiny terrarium with fake succulents because I thought it was adorable and there is no way I can kill it. Win-win.

{Book}
I first saw this book on Goodreads, and after reading the description I knew that I had to get my hands on it somehow. It's been compared to John Green's "Paper Towns", which I loved, and I'm just a sucker for a beautiful cover. Yeah, I DO judge books by their cover, and so far it has not disappointed. I also just love the idea of owning books. I love my Nook, which I got for Christmas this past year, but there's something about buying a book that just makes me happy. Also I would love to eventually invest in some floating bookshelves to add to my room. But anyway, I hope to read this soon, in fact I might even start it tomorrow, because I think it will be a good one.

As much as I love Target, and love even more living so close to one at home, it's probably for the best that the closest Target at school is at least a 15-20 minute drive. It's just too tempting.
I started my summer (at home) at Target, so it only seems fitting that I end my summer (at home) at Target. Until next time, and next paycheck, goodbye, Target.
