||Day Forty-Five||
Today was the ultimate "Girls' Day".
It started with my roommate and I laying out by the pool, in hammocks no less. It was a little cloudy, so every time the sun was covered there was a fairly strong breeze, but other than that I would say I enjoyed it. Then, after a trip to the grocery store and a quick lunch, I met up with some of my work friends to go shopping. It was so great to spend time with them, after not seeing them for almost two months; it was like I had never left.

Though my intention was to try and find something nice, like a dress, to wear for the upcoming 2 year anniversary of my dating my boyfriend, I had no such luck. But instead, I found a few other cute (and practical) additions to my wardrobe.

{Shirt}
Cost: $9.95
From: H&M
This shirt is super soft and fits comfortably (aka not skin-tight unlike most girls' clothing). I think this shirt is also really versatile because it can be paired casually with leggings, jeans, or shorts OR it can be dressed up with a skirt.
{Cardigan/Kimono}
Cost: $19.95
From: H&M
I'm not entirely sure what distinguishes a cardigan from a kimono, but despite the somewhat "tribal" pattern of this garment, I would probably classify it as a kimono. Lately I have been all about the kimono-styles, so getting this was a no brainer. It's actually really long, which I like, and will probably get a lot of use out of come fall semester.
{Scarf}
Cost: $9.99
From: Charlotte Russe
Honestly, I don't shop at Charlotte Russe near as much as I used to in high school, which makes me very nostalgic for the times when I used to dress in something other than leggings and basic tee, but today I couldn't resist buying a scarf. Scarves are just one of my weaknesses anyway, let alone it being an infinity scarf. Not to mention, this is very light-weight so it'll be great for fall-winter transition, as well as next spring-summer. I'm always thinking ahead.
Even though I couldn't find what I really wanted and ended up, instead, finding three things that I definitely didn't need, I feel very proud of myself for only spending ~$40. Plus, as I've said before, sometimes you need to spoil yourself a little bit.

After shopping, my two friends and I grabbed some dinner at our usual place. We ate too much, we laughed a lot, and in the end I was glad to have spent the time with them, and yet sad that it was over.. at least for another month or so. Now my mind is racing on the many thoughts of how the rest of my summer will go. Should I come back to my apartment for good soon, or should I take advantage of my last summer at home? I guess I can only hope that whatever happens, it happens for the better.
