I thought October went by fast, but then November came and went.
November was a month in which nothing particularly ground-breaking, or blog-worthy, happened.
And yet somehow it was such a busy month, busy school and work wise, that is.
I am nearing the end of my 5th semester of college, and honestly I couldn't be more thrilled.
But, despite these tough few months, I will continue to find the good in each one.
Here is November.

Besides the flurries on Halloween, November brought the first snow that actually stuck around for a few days. It also got incredibly cold and made me highly consider becoming a hermit and never leaving the apartment again.
November also reintroduced the act of "reading for pleasure". Truth be told, I don't need to read for classes hardly ever, but I usually just get so bogged down with school that I abandon the idea of picking up a book instead of mindlessly watching Netflix.
So, to break out of that habit, I picked up "Gone Girl".
Obviously I had seen it hyped all over the internet, but one of my good friends recommended this book to me, and let me just say I trust her judgement. It was also fun because my mom had just happened to start this book around the same time. It almost felt like we were reading it together, like a mother-daughter book club.
Started "Gone Girl" in November, finished "Gone Girl" in November.
Normally I am not the kind of person to speed through a book.
I like to take my time with it, and take in all the details.
But between Jake visiting and us literally spending the entire day lounging in bed (and reading), and me getting sick for a brief period (and reading), this book wasn't too hard to finish in just a week.
Perhaps one of the more monumental moments of November, yet not something I was particularly intending on making a full blog post about, was my transition into becoming a vegetarian.
I won't go into detail, but so far (as in the past two weeks) I think it has been an improvement to my diet.
And as always, November did not seem to make my dog any less cute.
So, here are some pictures of her being a precious little creature.
And, to break up the pictures of my dog, here is one of the dogs I took care of at my "dog job". Her name is Mable, and though she is incredibly adorable, she is also quite a mischievous one.
She was one of the dogs which was boarding over the week of Thanksgiving. There were 22 dogs total. That's 22 dogs that I had to walk by myself, at 6:30am, on Thanksgiving day. The things I do for animals.
Speaking of animals, the day BEFORE Thanksgiving I was treated to a visit from my mom, brother, and my other dog, Zoey. She stays at home with my mom because she's wild and needs the freedom of a backyard. Anyway, my mom and brother were coming up to visit to: (1) keep me company while I was staying in town to work at the dog daycare, and (2) prepare food that we would later bring to my grandparents for Thanksgiving.
Though it was fun to have her here, and priceless to see her interact with Tippy after not seeing her for months, we have come to the conclusion that Zoey is NOT an apartment dog.
Thanksgiving brought lots of delicious, and vegetarian friendly, food...
...as well as an interesting blast from the past.
My grandma had found my great-grandfather's journals, so we spent the afternoon reading up on what life was like 90 years ago.
After Thanksgiving, we drove back to my apartment, to pick up the dogs, then drove all the way home (and by all the way, I mean less than 2 hours). By the time we got back, we were all exhausted, but we managed to stay up and watch some TV together before bed.

While home, I had to take my car into the shop. Nothing major was wrong with it, just a few minor tune-ups. But, on the way to and from the shop, I spotted these hilarious Arby's signs.
Moments not pictured include:
- setting up the Christmas tree, though I have the final product
- eating Chinese food with my dad, when he came to help set up the tree
- watching the "Muppets: Most Wanted" movie with the whole family
- getting pizza with my mom and brother and then watching "How To Train Your Dragon"
Seeing as I had to work up until Thanksgiving day, that only really left Friday, Saturday, and part of Sunday left to enjoy at home. But I feel as though I managed to make the most of it. Honestly, it was just nice to not think about anything for once and relax.
At last, it was time to head back to school (for only three more weeks), and back to reality.
But first, a picture of Tippy in her new doggy-flannel. She looks quite majestic.
As if I didn't include enough pictures of her, here Tippy is trying to copilot the trip back to school.
And one more of Tippy, back in the apartment, and in her flannel.
November, you were just as stressful as October, but you have made me optimistic for these holiday months to follow. I do not like the cold, at all, but I can't help but love this sweet time of year.
Bring on December.
