||Day Eighty-Seven||
After 2 days of training at work, and with 5 upcoming shifts over the next 4 days, today was my day to relax. Today I was not scheduled to be trained, or to work my previous position, so I told myself I would do something fun. Or, at least, something that I probably wouldn't do on a day where I would work (or eventually have school and work).

I woke up too early for the third day in a row this morning. I like waking up early, when I feel energized enough. But for the past three days I've been waking up after only 4 or 5 hours of sleep, and even though I'll feel fine, I know that I should get more sleep than that. So today I went back to sleep and finally woke up just before 10. On a work day I would be chastising myself for sleeping the whole morning away, but today I just let it happen.
 Since I woke up late, lunch rolled around pretty quickly. I feel like I've been having the same thing to eat for lunch every day since I've been back, or at least some variation of this. Generally the carrots and peas, the crackers with cheese, and some kind of sandwich -- lately, my grandma's chicken salad.
 As far at the rest of the "day" went, I decided to venture out to Target (which is about a 15 minute drive, or 20 if you're me and you don't bother putting it in your GPS which makes you miss your turn and then have to back track). After Target I went to Walmart, which maybe sounds silly, but I was going to Walmart for some stuff for dinner, since it's a lot closer (and cheaper) to my apartment.
When I got back I decided to treat my dog, Tippy, to a walk so we could check the mail. There was nothing, but it was good for her to get out a bit.

Once we got back to the apartment I turned on the TV, which is rare since I live off Netflix, and found a Law & Order SVU marathon. Before I knew it I felt incredibly tired, guess sleeping in didn't help much, and I decided to take a nap, which I also rarely do. When I finally woke up it was 7:30; that's when I really felt like I had wasted away the day. But I tried to shake it off and remind myself that today has no agenda.
 I ended up running to Walmart again because when I had been there earlier I had stumbled across these adorable fake flowers. I had debated buying them the first time, but decided against it. Though, after feeling like I had lost some time, I thought I might feel better if I did something a little crafty. So, as I said, I went back, bought two different kinds of flowers and also rented four Redbox movies.
 I broke two pairs of scissors trying to trim the individual flower stems off the main stem (though I eventually "fixed" them with duct tape) until I realized I had actual wire trimmers that would be much more effective and less costly. I like to take them off the main stem so that I can use as many as I want, rearrange them however I want, and so that they could fit in my vase.
 Maybe a lot of people find it tacky, but I love fake flowers. I think if you can find some that don't look especially unrealistic that they can just really add a lot of flair to a room. Also they're cheaper than real flowers, you can switch them out whenever and as much as you want, and you don't have to worry about them dying.
 Before I started my next project, I popped in one of my movies, "Her". I had heard so many rave reviews about this movie, though I was skeptical. I thought the previews looked goofy and the premise sounded a little far-fetched, so it was hard to believe that this movie was claimed so pivotal. But I wanted to give it a shot. I don't know what it is that made me want to rent so many movies, because I'm really not a movie watching type (I get too bored/restless), but tonight apparently is about doing things that I wouldn't normally do.
 While the movie played, since I'm fairly incapable of just sitting and watching something for two hours, I decided to make a finances binder. I think I had mentioned before that I had been reading a Dave Ramsey book "Smart Money, Smart Kids" which has been motivating me to be smarter about money. So, this is my first step. I have three pouches, "spend", "save", and "send" (or "give").
Each week when I receive my tips I am going to divide it into the three pouches.
The spend, as it sounds, will be my cash to spend. I'm hoping this will discourage me from using my debit card, except when online purchases are made.
 Again, the save is self explanatory. It will be what I will keep to later put into my account, or possibly set up a savings account. I'm not sure yet.
 Lastly, the send is for money that I plan to send to my mom so that I can contribute to my cell phone bill. This could potentially also be the pouch where I will use money for things such as club dues.
So I didn't do anything too crazy on my day off, I didn't even do all the things I wanted to do. But the point is that I spent it relaxing. Now I feel like I can take on the rest of the week with ease.
