||Day Sixty-Four||
For a couple weeks now, my mom has been suggesting that we go see the movie "Divergent" again.
Seeing as how I enjoyed it, and just recently finished the book, I was more than willing to go.
But time and time again, something would get in the way, plans would change, or we'd just decide to stay in and watch "Fixer Upper" on HGTV (seriously though, that show is super good).

Today was another one of those days.

The new X-Men movie just came to the cheap theater here, so my mom and brother were thinking about going to see it soon (before my mom goes back to work). I, having no interest in the X-Men movies despite the star studded cast, planned on not going. That is, until I found out that "Divergent" was still in theaters there, but likely on it's way out. Thus, the perfect scenario was created. My mom and brother would go see X-Men at 3:00, and I would see Divergent at 3:15. Obviously there would be a slight delay before my movie as well as one after my movie, but other than that, it was genius.
2:30 rolled around, and my brother was still sleeping (he has a very strange time schedule). My mom said that the movie was off, once again.

And then I realized something -- I'm 20 years old.
I can go see a movie by myself if I wanted.
So I did.

I grabbed my bag, a jacket, enough cash for the ticket and popcorn, and I just left.
It was liberating. Doing things on my own terms. I really don't know why I don't exercise my right to make my own decisions more often. A month or so ago my mom even said to me that I needed to start doing things that made me happy. So from now on, I'm going to do the things that I want (within reason), when I want (within reason).
Just got really preachy there for a bit.
So, back to normality, after my exhilarating act of independence at the movies,
the rest of the day was pretty typical.

I played ball with my dog, Zoey, which she loved, then I helped my mom make dinner.
We had my favorite pasta dish, once again, except this time we added eggplant to the zucchini and tomato mixture. Eggplant is probably not something I would normally try, but my dad (who is a fairly avid summer gardener) had given us some vegetables from his garden, one of which was eggplant, so we decided to try it. I personally liked it. To me it tasted similarly enough to the cooked zucchini that I didn't notice it. Then I also had a lime Perrier (with a lime wedge, because I'm fancy) and some watermelon. Besides the sunshine, of course, I think I miss watermelon the most in the wintertime.
To summarize:
Be your own person. Make your own decisions. Practice independence. Drink sparkling water if you want to feel classy but aren't interested in alcohol. Eat lots of watermelon. Rinse, and repeat.
