||Day Twenty-Six||
Today I spent some more quality time with my mom, which is important to me for a few reasons:
1. She is hands down one of my best friends,
2. With her still technically working and then her also
having to go back to work at the end of July, we need
to spend as much time together as we can, and finally,
3. This is likely my last summer I'll be spending at home.
Therefore, these simple moments of eating pretzel bagels with jalapeno-salsa shmear and talking about what flowers we're going to plant around the mailbox are limited. And even admitting that right now makes me feel blue. But I guess that's just part of growing up. You trade these moments for new ones, such as eating pretzel bagels with jalapeno-salsa shmear and talking about my new job, or planning my wedding, or about something silly my kids have said/done.
Though, that's all very much in the distant future.
After our lunch date, we made our way to go look at flowers. Which is fun up until a point; that point being when you realize it's hot as heck in the garden center, and you've been walking around looking at flowers, and you still don't have any idea what you want/what would look good together/what the heck you'r evening doing because you in fact do not know a thing about gardening.
But then finally, we reached a conclusion, found some really great flowers (along with an adorable hibiscus plant which is really a tribute to me and my adoration with sloths -- sloths like hibiscus) and then ended the day with pizza and a Modern Family marathon.
I mean really, could it get any better?
